As Senior Managing Director, Mr. Burkhardt has acquired extensive knowledge and skills in a broad array of corporate finance activities and has worked in numerous industry groups. Today he is considered one of the leading experts in the Electrical Distribution Industry.
He has had extensive experience advising privately owned companies in many consolidating industries, including wholesale electrical and industrial distribution, various healthcare segments, including medical devices, home healthcare, pharmacy benefit management and ambulance services, food and beverage, electrical products, fluid management, motion control and other precision industrial product industries. He has been responsible for numerous debt and equity public offerings and private placements, and Merger and Acquisition transactions in a wide range of manufacturing, consumer products, service and distribution industries.
In addition, he has rendered many corporate valuations, including over 25 fairness opinions in connection with “going private” transactions. He has authored numerous articles for trade publications on the subject of Merger and Acquisition, including for Industrial Distribution, Electrical Wholesaling, Electrical Light & Power, and Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry.
Prior to joining HT Capital Advisors in 1994, Mr. Burkhardt was a general investment banker for over ten years with Janney Montgomery Scott, the investment banking subsidiary of Penn Mutual Life. He began his career as a financial analyst with Aetna Life and Casualty’s Private Placement Financing Department and subsequently was elected an officer and became manager of Aetna’s Corporate Development Department. His corporate experience also includes three years as Director of CBS’ Acquisition Department, where he was also involved with venture capital and strategic alliance activities. He is a U.S. Army Veteran.
He is a a member of the Association for Corporate Growth.
Mr. Burkhardt holds an A.B. from Brown University, an M.B.A. from Columbia University Business School and an L.L.B from Duke University School of Law.
