Stephen C. Tardio is a Managing Director in the investment banking group of HT Capital Advisors, and has been the head of HT Capital?s Chicago office since he founded it in 2001. He has extensive experience providing transaction advisory services to clients in a wide variety of manufacturing, distribution and service industries. His clients have ranged from closely held private companies to large, publicly traded corporations. Since joining the firm, he has managed a wide variety of engagements involving mergers and acquisitions, private placements of debt and equity, corporate restructurings and recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts, management buyouts, fairness opinions, valuation analyses, and venture capital investments. He has spoken at industry seminars on the subject of mergers and acquisitions, and authored articles on acquisitions, valuation and transaction strategy.

Mr. Tardio has represented clients in a number of industries including food and beverage, health care products and services, wholesale distribution, environmental services, computer and communications systems integration and software, plastics manufacturing and aerospace/defense. Representative transactions include the sale of medical device maker UreSil, L.P. to a management-led group; the sale of industrial products wholesaler Kennedy Electrical Supply to Crescent Electric Supply; the sale of the Class B shares of composite plastics manufacturer Reinhold Industries to Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney; and the sale of meat snack producer GoodMark Foods to ConAgra.

Prior to joining HT Capital Advisors, Mr. Tardio was a Manager of Technology Integration Services with Andersen Consulting (subsequently Accenture) in Chicago. There he consulted with Fortune 100 clients such as Sears Roebuck, Caterpillar, and Bank One.

Mr. Tardio holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in corporate finance from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has completed the Mergers and Acquisitions Executive Education Program at The John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, and The Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. He holds Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
