Prior to joining HT
Capital Advisors as President in 1989, Mr. Lomas was a Managing
Director and co-head of investment banking at Gruntal & Co. During
his five years at Gruntal, Mr. Lomas created the mergers and
acquisitions and bankruptcy departments of the firm. Before his
affiliation with Gruntal, Mr. Lomas spent 10 years with Deloitte &
Touche where he ran the international merger and acquisition consulting
department. In 1994, he was elected non-executive Chairman of Rexel,
Inc. a Fortune 1000 company and one of the oldest companies on the
NYSE, and served until its acquisition in February 1998 by
Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, S.A. Mr. Lomas began his career on Wall
Street with the firm of Troster, Singer & Co. where he was involved
in various facets of corporate finance and securities trading. Mr.
Lomas has initiated and orchestrated hundreds of successful investment
banking assignments.
Representative transactions include: the sale of GoodMark Foods to
ConAgra; sale of Rexel, Inc.; management's acquisition of GoodMark
Foods from General Mills and subsequent financings and Initial Public
Offering; Ezaki Glico Co.’s divestiture of Harmony Snacks and Price
Candy; the acquisition of Southern Electric Supply Co., Inc. by
Compagnie de Distribution de Materiel Electrique; the acquisition of
Very Important Products Corp. (Armor All) by McKesson, Inc.; and the
merger of Honeybee, Inc. with Spiegel. Mr. Lomas was the advisor to the
unsecured creditors of Grossman's, Inc. during its bankruptcy
proceeding and advisor to Official Committee of Equity Holders in the
reorganization of the LTV Corporation, one of the largest, most complex
bankruptcies in United States history.
Mr. Lomas holds a B.S. Cum Laude in Business from Long Island
University, an M.B.A. from the New York University Graduate School of
Business Administration and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He
has completed several advanced management study programs including
Harvard’s AMP on Corporate Governance. He was in the USNR and is a
Vietnam Veteran. He has served on several public and private Boards,
including GoodMark Foods, Inc., the largest meat snack company in the
United States, and as Chairman of Precision Optical Systems, a leading
manufacturer of precision plastic optical components. Mr. Lomas is a
member of the: NY Society of Security Analysts; National Association of
Corporate Directors; Association for Corporate Growth; Turnaround
Management Association and CFA Institute.
